Art therapy is a gentle therapeutic approach that values your personal experience, your unique way of expressing yourself, and your innate ability to heal. Art therapy is for everyone - no art experience is necessary.
I work in person with children over 7 years old, youth, and adults in Vancouver BC. I offer online sessions for adults and teens (12+).
I provide a calm and caring therapeutic space to consider emotions, feelings, patterns, and beliefs while engaging with creative materials. Whether painting, scribbling, weaving, using clay, or collaging images, engaging with art materials can provide a new perspective and space for insights to arise. The process is client-centred, which means that it is guided by you and your needs. I accompany you on your journey to ensure safety and comfort and to assist you to gain understanding and to make important shifts.
As a Certified Child Life Specialist, I also have specific education, training and experience supporting families with medical trauma and hospitalization. I am particularly interested in supporting children, teens and adults post-treatment who would like to heal from past medical trauma, children with a sibling or parent with medical needs, and grief and loss, including anticipatory grief.
Sessions are covered by most extended health care plans. Ask your provider about your personal coverage for sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
