Service Description

Medical play is a common play-based intervention used by Child Life Specialists to help normalize health care experiences and help children to process distress relating to medical treatment. immunizations or hospitalization. A Teddy Bear Clinic is a version of medical play where a teddy bear is used as the "patient" and the child is the "doctor" at a make-believe clinic visit. Activity stations include weighing and measuring, giving a check-up using toy and real medical supplies, looking at x-rays, making art out of medical supplies, and practicing coping skills. Children move through the room at their own pace and the play is spontaneous and child-directed. Your child will come away with a bear of their own as well as a sense of agency and greater comfort with the very common experience of going to the doctor. This Teddy Bear Clinic is for children 2-8 years old with their caregiver. Caregivers are expected to supervise their child at this open-ended play experience. Use coupon code SIBLING10 when registering more than one child! Each sibling is only $10.
